The Foundation for Convivial Living awards grants to not-for-profit organizations that advance unorthodox approaches to building ecological and societal resilience. U.S. applicants must be a designated 501(c)3 or have a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor. U.K. applicants must be a registered charity in the U.K.
Principal Criteria
We use four principal criteria in considering grant applications:
- Evidence that the work of the applicant is aligned with the values of the foundation
- Evidence of individual leadership experience or potential within the organization
- Demonstration of originality and exceptional creativity in addressing ecological and societal problems, and solutions
- Clear capacity to operationalize creative ideas into practical problem solving
Grants may assist in continuing or expanding ongoing work, or embarking on new endeavors. It is the intention of the board that recipients represent a variety of ecological and social endeavors, including activists, artists, farmers, writers, and other practitioners.
Grant recipients will be expected to share periodic updates with the foundation, in order that we can help promote efforts and accomplishments through our own network. Recipients are also expected to provide a detailed report at the end of the grant cycle, describing specific and measurable progress and accomplishments. Additional deliverables may be required, based on the nature of the project.
